HAKUDO RAIN

|

“One can feel the earth rising from the ground, can see those leaves entirely injected with life and the lush moss ground which gives off sparkles. While still being wrapped in tranquility after the rain has passed, the nature is echoing.

Interpreting this stream of moments into to the scent of rain enables one to recreate the ritual-like and timeless quality of those moments and makes one experience the sensation of air being charged with a spirit of rain.”

ENHANCED SENSES

An essential element of HAKUDO RAIN is its smooth earthiness with dark powerful greens, which are deepened by the weighty quality of humidity. The combination of scents from the root and woods are able to construct the moist earth with mystical depth.

|

DYNAMIC FAUNA

On the other side, almost translucent and airy notes of leafy essence combine with a resinous quality to form the clear but misty air, which tastes gently sweet but slightly balsamic. Various green notes were gathered to build geometric layers of green invigorating shades and the life force of dynamic fauna.

STUDIO CORKINHO

HAKUDO RAIN CORK DIFFUSER generates a daily ritual, a simple and pure experience in order to reconnect with the value of time once again and to create awareness of how scent drives us into the body of our memory. As a result, one ‘listens’ to the scent, letting it flow within our entire being to enter the now-here dimension.

Contemporary purifying ritual

AOIRO and STUDIO CORKINHO introduce a contemporary purifying ritual that offers a quiet moment to unwind in everyday life and uncover your authentic soul. It is a pure collaboration of their unique specialities: an olfactory design for space and atmosphere and an exploration of object design with cork. The result is a serene ceremony set composed with natural essences, uniquely treated cork and other carefully sourced, earthy materials. ‘

Listening’ to the scent

Listening’ to the scent allows your senses to be infused and to experience it with one’s entire being. Based on a philosophy derived from Khodo - the Japanese ceremony of appreciating a subtle and exquisite fragrance - AOIRO has been exploring a different way of using scent as an olfactory experience in space.

With the latter in mind, AOIRO’s HAKUDO RAIN scent is inspired by the atmosphere of a spirited Japanese island after rainfall. It enables us to experience the sensation of air being charged with the spirit of rain. Smooth earthiness and dark, powerful greens are highlighting the quality of humidity as a main profile. Combined with airy notes of leafy and resinous essences, the scent slowly draws a vivid scenery with three-dimensional depth and creates a captivating air that rejuvenates the mind and spirit.

Offering stillness and mindfulness

STUDIO CORKINHO completes the ceremony set with nine cubic cork sculptures. Exploring the unique and raw, organic surfaces of burnt cork, each object offers a diffusion ground, on which the HAKUDO RAIN botanical essence can be dripped. Spread around the space or kept together to intensify the energy of the scent: the set brings a personal ritual into our private space as a sensory experience that stimulates and harmonises our presence, offering stillness and mindfulness.
